This year we’re introducing Mardi Gras & Asian Cajun Village celebrates the unique story of Vietnamese refugees who settled in New Orleans and the Gulf Coast, where they integrated with local Cajun culture to create a distinctive Asian-Cajun fusion. This innovative festival honors our shared agricultural heritage—both Mardi Gras and Lunar New Year mark the transition from winter’s scarcity to spring’s abundance, celebrating renewal and community resilience. And to top it all, it’s being held Valentine’s Day weekend. It’s going to be roaring great fun!

We're excited to introduce the Great Tug-of-War Games for the upcoming festival, hosted by Westmarch Kingdom of Amtgard! In Vietnamese culture, tug-of-war or kéo co, is a traditional folk game played during festivals (like Lunar New Year). It connects to wet-rice farming, features rituals, and brings people together to pray for prosperity and strength, requiring teamwork and community spirit.
